The 2014 X.O. Pinot Noir is only available to Wine Club members.
The X.O. label made a second appearance in 2014 after making its debut in 2012. This label is about capturing the unique personality of a single barrel that captivates us with its soul. We do not produce it every year. Our 2014 X.O. is made of Dijon 667 which was picked on September 18th. The wine was raised in completely neutral oak and displays hints of cotton candy, cocoa and cigar box on the nose, with beautiful violets and sweet blueberries inviting you to taste. The elegant palette of black cherries and sweet spices with notes of cassis feels juicy and at the same time luscious – each taste of this sophisticated wine leaves you wanting more. 14.1% alcohol.
The Vineyard which adheres to sustainable farming practices contains Willakenzie soils and sits at an elevation of 300 feet with a south / south-west facing slope. Planted with over 4 acres of Pommard (80%) and Dijon 667 & 777 clones (20%) in 2005, the first vintage from this vineyard was in 2008. Wines from this site tend to be powerful yet elegant. Atticus Vineyard is located in the Yamhill Carlton AVA.
