This package is a great introduction to our wines and our story, and an easy way to connect with us and enjoy our tasting experience through the distance. In lieu of a vineyard walk, enjoy a virtual tour of the vineyard (weather permitting) and get a close look at this beautiful place where we grow our grapes. Package includes 3 bottles of our Yamhill Carlton label (2016, 2017, 2018) plus a 45 to 60 minutes private zoom tasting and vineyard tour scheduled at mutual convenience.
2018 Yamhill Carlton Pinot Noir – the 2018 is being praised as a great vintage. A blend of 40% Pommard and 60% Dijon clones 667 and 777, this wine is dark, rich, with a beautiful balance of fruit, earth and spice. 30% free run; Raised in 20% new French oak for 11 months. 14.3% alcohol.
2017 Yamhill Carlton Pinot Noir – a blend of 60% Atticus Vineyard Pommard and 40% Dijon 667 and Dijon 777. This new release has delicate sweet baking spices, cherry and cola on the nose with juicy blueberries on the palate. Elegant mouth feel with a lingering finish. Raised in 20% new French oak for 11 months. 13.4% alcohol.
2016 Yamhill Carlton Pinot Noir – a blend of 50% Atticus Vineyard Pommard and 50% Dijon 667 and Dijon 777. The wine was raised in 29% new French oak for 11 months with about 50% of the wine in puncheons or larger format barrels. Sweetly fragrant and rich with black cherries, pomegranate and black tea. 14.4% alcohol.
ATTICUS VINEYARD
The Vineyard which adheres to sustainable farming practices contains Willakenzie soils and sits at an elevation of 300 feet with a south / south-west facing slope. Planted with over 4 acres of Pommard (80%) and Dijon 667 & 777 clones (20%) in 2005, the first vintage from this vineyard was in 2008. Wines from this site tend to be powerful yet elegant. Atticus Vineyard is located in the Yamhill Carlton AVA.
