ATTICUS YAMHILL-CARLTON PINOT NOIR, 2019

$35.00

We are excited to announce the release of our 2019 Yamhill Carlton Pinot Noir. For this vintage, we experimented with small amounts of whole cluster fermentation (~25%) on multiple lots of our wine.  About 2/3 of this wine comes from those lots. This led to beautiful aromatics full of sweet spice with lifted notes of raspberry and Japanese plums, framed with orange zest, black tea and cigar box.   The wine is juicy on the palate with lots of raspberry and blueberry flavors, great minerality and elegant tannins. A blend of 60% Pommard, 25% Dijon 667 and 15% Dijon 777.  Raised in 15% new French oak for 11 months. 13.7% alcohol.

ATTICUS VINEYARD
The Vineyard which adheres to sustainable farming practices contains Willakenzie soils and sits at an elevation of 300 feet with a south / south-west facing slope. Planted with over 4 acres of Pommard (80%) and Dijon 667 & 777 clones (20%) in 2005, the first vintage from this vineyard was in 2008. Wines from this site tend to be powerful yet elegant. In 2019, we picked the 667 and part of our Pommard blocks on September 29th.  The 777 and balance of the Pommard were picked on October 1st. Atticus Vineyard is located in the Yamhill Carlton AVA.

Less than 350 cases were made.
