Our 2015 Yamhill Carlton is a blend of 60% Atticus Vineyard Dijon 667 & 777 and 40% Atticus Vineyard Pommard. The wine was raised in 40% new French oak for 11 months. This wine shines with fragrant sweet blueberries and floral notes. The palate greets you with fleshy plums, brambles and a pleasant earthiness that is elegantly balanced with fine grained tannins and a lingering finish with hints of espresso and anise. 14.1% alcohol.
The Vineyard which adheres to sustainable farming practices contains Willakenzie soils and sits at an elevation of 300 feet with a south / south-west facing slope. Planted with over 4 acres of Pommard (80%) and Dijon 667 & 777 clones (20%) in 2005, the first vintage from this vineyard was in 2008. Wines from this site tend to be powerful yet elegant. In 2015, we picked the 667 and part of our Pommard blocks on September 15th. The 777 and balance of the Pommard were picked a week later on September 22nd. Atticus Vineyard is located in the Yamhill Carlton AVA.
