In honor of the fourth “Celebrating Hispanic Roots” event we are offering this duo of wines from the 2021 vintage from September 1st to October 15th with shipments starting on Sept. 18th. Flat ground shipping fee of $20. All the wines come from Atticus Vineyard. 10% of sales will be donated to ¡Salud!
2021 Yamhill Carlton Pinot Noir – This wine shines with raspberries, pomegranate, graham cracker and hints of red plum, blueberries and red cherry on the palate. Juicy and beautifully layered with elegant, fine tannins. Raised in primarily neutral French oak barrels, it is composed of 53% Pommard, 24% Dijon 667 and a balance of Dijon clones 777 and 115.
2021 Atticus Vineyard Pinot Noir – A blend of 62% Pommard and 27% Dijon 667 that were harvested on September 14th of that year. The balance includes Dijon 115 and 777 that were picked on September 3rd. Beautifully nuanced, layered and elegant. The sultry nose invites you with plums and blueberries, candied violets, cocoa, and hints of red velvet cake, black tea and graham cracker. It is dark and meaty in the palate, juicy and beautifully textured. Raised in 29% new oak for 11 months, about 1/3 came from a whole cluster lot from our BLK 2 Pommard. 2/3 of the wine came from free run lots.
ATTICUS VINEYARD
The Vineyard which adheres to sustainable farming practices and is LIVE Certified contains Willakenzie soils and sits at an elevation of 300 feet with a south / south-west facing slope. Planted with over 4 acres of Pommard (80%) and Dijon 667 & 777 clones (20%) in 2005, the first vintage from this vineyard was in 2008. In 2017, we added 2 more acres of Pommard, Dijon 115 and 777. Wines from this site tend to be powerful yet elegant. Atticus Vineyard is located in the Yamhill Carlton AVA.
