Description
Our 2014 Yamhill Carlton is a blend of 50% Atticus Vineyard Dijon 667 & 777 and 50% Atticus Vineyard Pommard. The wine was raised in 30% new French oak for 11 months. This wine shows rich plums and blackcurrants on the nose with sweet vanilla cappuccino notes and gentle hints of cocoa and cigar box. On the palate, the wine is very approachable, with juicy boysenberries perfectly balanced by sweet spices that linger on the finish. 14.1% alcohol. SOLD OUT.
ATTICUS VINEYARD
The Vineyard which adheres to sustainable farming practices contains Willakenzie soils and sits at an elevation of 300 feet with a south / south-west facing slope. Planted with over 4 acres of Pommard (80%) and Dijon 667 & 777 clones (20%) in 2005, the first vintage from this vineyard was in 2008. Wines from this site tend to be powerful yet elegant. In 2014, we picked our vineyard on September 18th and September 23rd. Atticus Vineyard is located in the Yamhill Carlton AVA.
