Our 2014 Atticus Vineyard is a blend of 80% Atticus Vineyard Dijon 667 & 777 and 20% Atticus Vineyard Pommard. The wine was raised in 40% new French oak for 11 months. This wine smells of sweet marionberry pie, with hints of baking spices and black tea. The palate welcomes you with a rich attack of black cherries and dark plums. Very structured and smooth, this wine has a big mouth feel and long finish of black currants and spices. 14.1% alcohol.
The Vineyard which adheres to sustainable farming practices contains Willakenzie soils and sits at an elevation of 300 feet with a south / south-west facing slope. Planted with over 4 acres of Pommard (80%) and Dijon 667 & 777 clones (20%) in 2005, the first vintage from this vineyard was in 2008. Wines from this site tend to be powerful yet elegant. In 2013, we picked the entire vineyard on October 4th. Atticus Vineyard is located in the Yamhill Carlton AVA.
