Our 2013 Atticus Vineyard is a blend of 60% Atticus Vineyard Pommard and 40% Atticus Vineyard Dijon 667 & 777. The wine was raised in a mix of new and neutral French oak for 11 months. This wine has dark and rich aromatics led by black cherries and layers of blueberries and plums with delicate hints of violet and cigar box. Dark fleshy plums envelope the palate with layers of savory spices and sweet cassis. The wine is beautifully balanced with structured, elegant tannins that give way to a long, satisfying finish. 12.5% alcohol.
Less than 100 cases were made.
The Vineyard which adheres to sustainable farming practices contains Willakenzie soils and sits at an elevation of 300 feet with a south / south-west facing slope. Planted with over 4 acres of Pommard (80%) and Dijon 667 & 777 clones (20%) in 2005, the first vintage from this vineyard was in 2008. Wines from this site tend to be powerful yet elegant. In 2013, we picked the entire vineyard on October 4th. Atticus Vineyard is located in the Yamhill Carlton AVA.
